9 Months
Growth: I still dont have any official numbers but we go to the Doctor for a check up on Friday. I weighed you at Hillary's house and you weighed 21 pounds. No wonder I have great biceps.
Sleep: You are doing a little better on sleep. We went through a rough couple of weeks where you woke up all the time, but I think you were teething and just unhappy. You still sleep in between us, and it is working really well!
On the menu: Doing great, eating all fruits and vegetables. We have tried some of the chicken and beef mixes and not a fan, you spit it right out and make gagging noises. I have given you a couple little bites of chicken and you like that much better. You are really aware of when we eat, and want some too! You and dad shared a smoothie last night and from what I hear it was a big hit! You really like the puffs and want me to put them in your mouth. On our trip you mastered eating right out of the pouch and you enjoy eating on your own.
What's happenin You are one active little guy! You are crawling fast, pulling up on everything (even the dogs and cats! YIKES) opening doors, and cabinets, flipping over the dogs food bowls, crawling under tables. Standing up and cruising. You have even stood for just a second not holding on to anything. You are so cute to watch explore everything. You are making lots of sounds like DA-DA, BA-BA, and some kind of strange growling noise.
Favorite things: Swimming lessons went really well. You seemed to love it! You also loved swimming at Aunt Hillary's and playing in the splash pad. You really just want anything I have. You love to dance and to hang upside down. You are really starting to imitate us and it is adorable. Dad will shake his head back and forth and you will laugh and do it too. You love the animals, and lucky for all of us they love you too. You are really noticing other people and especially kids. You are very aware of everything! You seem to remember Grandpa and Dollie.
Me at about Jack's age. I apparently liked water too!
Not so favorite things: You are not a fan of the hair dryer and got really upset when I was drying my hair. You do not like getting dressed. You truly are more fun every day.
This past weekend we had my 10 year high school reunion. It was really fun to see everyone. We had a pretty good turnout, for only graduating with 43 people. It is so funny to see some of those people I have knows since I was 5, and now they are parents! It does make you feel old! It was really nice to see Kortne. I havent seen her since Liz's wedding. I would have liked to have danced more, but it was still a good time. I am so looking forward to having a weekend at home. It has been so busy with going to Phoenix, Monahans RFL, Lubbock Council Meeting, Lubbock Staff meeting and then the Reunion. Glad for a weekend at home, before we go to Dallas for a conference! Mom and Dad have been awesome watching Jack. Thank goodness for good grandparents.

Road Trip
Well we made it back from Jack's first big road trip and it was quite the success. He was fantastic in the car! So much better than expected! I taught him to slurp his pouches of food, and he is a champ. He loves doing it! He really likes being able to feed himself
We had the best trip! Chase's birthday was so much fun. He played lots and lots of golf with Jake and Ryan and we shopped and just hung out. So nice to spend some time with Hillary and of course she loved getting to see Jack. It was hot. I don't know how people have kids in Arizona.
We took Jack to the splash pad and he loved it! I got soaked, and I didnt have on a swimsuit so that was interesting...but at least it was cool.It was so fun to see all these other moms and all ages of kids. Jack was not shy at all about seeing the other babies and got right in the middle of it. He didnt mind at all getting soaked! He looked so cute in his little stegosaurus outfit.
We got lots of cute clothes for Jack and a few for me. I sure wish Hillary lived closer! We also had a great time with Elaine, Kimberli and her cute little ones. Jack and Callen really enjoyed seeing each other. I think Chase had a fabulous 30th birthday! His cake turned out so awesome.
When we got home last night we were unpacking and Jack was just showing off. He can open cabinets, and stand with only one hand on something and sometimes no hands at all!!! CRAZY. He also helped Dad unload the dishwasher. All of a sudden he is not only mobile he can do all sorts of things! Pretty awesome baby.
I am a little sleepy today, and Jack is snoozing in his crib. We have lots of travel in September so I hope Jack keeps up ...his being so good in the car.
