5 Months Cont.

Growth: Not sure how much you weigh...but my arms hurt every night! You were 16 lbs at 4 months so I am thinking you are at least 18 lbs now! You are making my arms and back super strong. I also think you have shot up a few inches as well, all your sleepers are too short.

Sleep:
Oh sleep, is pretty interesting with you. You take the shortest naps every during the day. Maybe 10 minutes and you are recharged and ready to play. Every day is a new day with sleeping sometimes you will sleep for a few hours other times just some cat napping At night you sleep awesome if you are in the bed cuddled up with me. I was/am terrified of you sleeping in the bed since everything is so against co sleeping, but I have devised a safe way to hold you, where you cant roll and dont use any covers and you sleep like a champ..and sleep eat..your favorite thing!

On the menu:
You just nurse and nurse. I am not even sure how often at least every 3 to 4 hours during the day and at least once a night. We are waiting until six months for solids but you are soo intrested in food all of a sudden we may have to give you some cereal.

What's happenin?
-You are starting to sit really well and keep you balance.
-You have rolled several times from stomach to back, but it still really shocks you.
-You transfer things from hand to hand
-Drink out of a sippy cup!
-Hold your bottle with both hands when Dollie feeds you
-You love to push up and stand in our laps.
-Grab toys and prompletly put them in your mouth

Favorite things:
- When Dad puts you some place high like the mantle you just grin from ear to ear.
-You like to move and dance with me
-You LOVE songs. Pat a cake, and itzy bitzy spider make you smile after the first word. You also love me singing anything, which is good because I sing all kinds of things to you.
-Chewing on toys
-Watching your mobile
-Baths..really starting to splash and giggle.
-Farley, he loves to lick you and you just open your mouth.
-Love looking in mirrors
Not so favorite things:
- being strapped in the car seat
- You dont like lying down.
- Going to sleep at night is usually a screaming/crying match. You scream and we want to cry.
-Not being held

We love you so much! You are more fun each and every day!

5 Months.

Jack is five months old today! This is where everyone comments with...I cant believee he is five months, time sure does fly, where has the time gone, enjoy it they grow up so fast. I have decided not to be one of those moms. You can't make time stop and you can't wish it back.  I am enjoying every second of it!! I know he is going to grow up, so I am not going to be sad but happy in each remarkable stage! And if the past five months are any indicator, I just love him more and more.
It is truly amazing how much he changes and grows and to see those little wheels already start turning.  It just makes me crazy the things people say. Ok I am off my soap box.

Our little five month old monkey is so much fun. He smiles so big and does the cutest little chuckle. Still no full on belly laugh but we are getting so close. He has really improved in his sitting and balances really well. He can balance on his legs really well when he stands.  And the big news he has rolled over twice! I dont think he really meant to and looked rather surprised! He is so so aware of everything around him and seeks out mirrors to see himself. He loves the dogs and they seem to enjoy him as well (or at least they tolerate him). He is so much fun to play with. He loves songs and to dance around the living room. He has also figured out to splash in the bathtub.

Baby....it is what's for dinner!

Sleeping is still a struggle. He sleeps great once he goes to sleep but getting him to relax is rough. Chase and I are in desperate need of a date night. My mom and dad are coming to the rescue this weekend. So excited! I am so so thankful, that mom and dad help us take care of him while I work. I am so grateful. :)

Our house is coming along. The framing is complete and it should be finished by July! We are so excited. I cant wait to have an area that Jack can be on the floor that is not cement and have everything on one level. Yay!!
Its so neat to know that Jack is going to grow up there.

The Big McCamey Blowout

Wow, what a day yesterday. I took Jack with me to McCamey for a quick meeting before the Relay. He slept the whole way there like a champ and I was feeling pretty much a cool, and in charge mom who has it all together. Once we arrived I hopped in the back to give Jack a little milk snack before we went in and I noticed he had a blowout. He had already had a blowout right before we left so I was a little surprised. I figured it was small and not a problem, until I noticed that it was all over the car seat, running down his leg and going up his back. It was now on my pants and all over the backseat!

Ok, calm and collected mom I will just take him to the very back of the car and change him. Its a nice flat surface. Well, my very back of the car is occupied with ten hula-hoops! So thats not going to work very well.
My back seats are at a pretty sharp incline, so changing him on my lap is the only choice but what a messy choice. I asked Jack if he really just wanted to be an only child with little incidents like this.
Just another chaper in this crazy book on being a parent!
